Alex Cavegn is an American actor and writer originating from Minnesota, who has led a multifaceted journey deeply rooted in artistic exploration and personal growth. Initially drawn to athletics such as football, wrestling, and lacrosse during their formative years, Alex's path took a transformative turn when they discovered a profound sense of community and purpose within the realm of theatre. This discovery prompted Alex to make a commitment to the arts, leading them to transfer to The Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists (SPCPA) for their high school education. During their time at SPCPA, Alex not only cultivated their artistic skills but also gained a crucial understanding of the profound impact of art on society, fostering a passion for socio-political projects that amplify the voices of underrepresented communities.

 

After graduating from high school, Alex embarked on a continued journey of artistic development by pursuing acting training at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) in Glasgow. Additionally, they expanded their horizons through an enriching exchange semester at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, further refining their craft and broadening their artistic perspectives.

 

In 2022, Alex wrote and performed a captivating one-person show, exploring the challenges of articulating emotions to a therapist, as part of RCS' On The Verge Festival. This production showcased their exceptional talent and ability to delve into complex emotional landscapes, captivating audiences with their authentic storytelling.

 

Beyond the realm of acting, Alex finds solace and joy in nature, frequently engaging in activities such as hiking, relaxing on beaches, and cycling. Their love for the outdoors led them to work as a camp counselor for three summers, where they imparted valuable skills to campers, teaching them about cycling, canoeing, fishing, and rock climbing.

 

Driven by their artistic vision and a deep desire to effect positive change, Alex is poised to utilize their skills and unique perspective to make a meaningful impact on the world. With a passion for projects that address socio-political issues and uplift underrepresented voices, Alex seeks to be a catalyst for change, utilizing their artistic talents and individuality to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
